Unity Concerts
On 8, 9 and 10 June 2017 in New York, at David Geffen Hall of the New York Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alan Gilbert will perform "Unity Concerts", designed as a "celebration of the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders". For this project the famous ensemble was joined by the colleagues from different countries (Australia, China, France, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Japan and others). Russia is represented by the musician from the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia "Evgeny Svetlanov" - violinist Aleksander Malomozhnov. The performances are also a part of the cycle of the farewell concerts by Alan Gilbert, who is leaving the position of the music director of the New York Philharmonic this season. The central composition of the "Unity Concerts" is the Symphony No. 7 by G. Mahler.
