Concerts in Klin

On 11 September 2015, the Tchaikovsky House-Museum of the Town of Klin will host the Ceremony of New Student Induction for freshmen of the Academic Music College at the Moscow Conservatory. The first such ceremony had convened decades ago and continued to be held annually, but was later abandoned for a few years. In 2012, the tradition was revived at the initiative of one of the college’s world-famous alumni, conductor Vladimir Jurowski, who has been heading the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra of Russia since 2011. For the fourth time now, within the framework of the ceremony the legendary orchestra will give a concert for charity. On the same day, 11 September, in the Hall of the Tchaikovsky House-Museum, it will play a concert for the local community of Klin.

The program features works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Richard Strauss. 

Soloists: Nadezhda Gulitskaya (soprano), Ivan Pochekin (violin), Alexander Ramm (cello)

Conductor: Vladimir Jurowski

Both concerts will be presented jointly with the Tchaikovsky House-Museum of the Town of Klin.
