The State Orchestra is 78
On 5 October 2014, the Svetlanov State Orchestra turns 78. Its debut performance took place on 5 October 1936, at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory under the direction of Alexander Gauk and Erich Kleiber (on the program was “The Internationale,” and Beethoven’s First and Third Symphonies).
